Pet bereavement & euthanasia services

Seeing the decline of your beloved companion is always hard and the decision to have them put to sleep may be one of the most difficult choices you ever have to make. It may have become obvious that your pet’s life is drawing to a close, or they may be suffering due to an injury or illness, which has impacted their quality of life.

Unfortunately, it’s less common for our pets to pass away naturally in their sleep, instead, as owners, we’re tasked with making this life-ending decision on their behalf. Choosing to have your pet put to sleep (euthanised) is the kindest thing you can do for them if they’re suffering.

Talk to us about pet euthanasia

We’re here to support you

You won’t be alone through this difficult process, our compassionate and caring team are here to support you and your pet every step of the way. Our veterinary and reception teams have all completed specific training in pet bereavement, and being pet owners themselves, understand how special pets are to their human companions.

You can talk to our team well ahead of this decision needing to be made, which may help you understand the process and the options available, at a time that feels more comfortable for you.

Questions we get asked about pet euthanasia include:

  • How will I know when it’s the right time?
  • What will happen during the procedure?
  • Should I stay with my pet?
  • Should I let other pets or my children be there?
  • What will happen afterward?

The final decision ultimately lies with you, however, our veterinary team has the experience and knowledge to offer you advice, explain your pet’s condition and what they will be experiencing, and answer your questions.  We are there to support you too, so please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
