Isolation Unit for pets with contagious diseases
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our patients, Avenues Veterinary Centre’s isolation unit in Rutherglen is in a completely separate room to our other pet wards.
Used to treat pets with contagious diseases, our isolation unit has been designed to keep infectious animals apart from the rest of our patients and utilises the latest ‘barrier nursing’ techniques to maintain the highest levels of isolation.

Pets in our isolation unit will be looked after by a smaller team of staff wearing full PPE – Personal Protection Equipment, with extra cleaning protocols in place to ensure optimum safety without compromising veterinary care.
Patients will have comfortable bedding and a quiet place to rest and recover, under the close watch of our experienced team.
Fast turnaround of test results
The Avenues’ experienced team uses our onsite laboratory and external lab service to ensure a quick turnaround of pet test samples. Being able to diagnose diseases quickly means rapid treatment can commence, which can be life-saving.
